Boy George (George Alan O'Dowd) was surrounded by fans eager to greet him when he landed at the Melbourne airport  in July 1984 and was given a special welcome spot near the terminal building, but police moved in close to prevent scuffles breaking out among the noisy but happy welcoming crowd  of fans.
